Don and I are so thankful to be starting this business. We have prayed about the ideas and how we could actually put together a business that could be useful in our community. Living in a tourist town can be a challenge when it comes to business. How in the world do we reach the people that will actually use our services?? We are working on it through social media (the bear picture has floored me! check it out on our Facebook page! word of mouth and being present in our community. We are both service oriented people that are perfectionists! That may end up causing us a lot of work we are not paid for 🙂 but that is okay because we enjoy this kind of work. Don grew up with a dad that was a building contractor and master carpenter. He has been exposed to everything in the building of a home from the foundation up. Don went into the Navy and served our country for 15 years. He is currently an Operations Manager with a corporation here locally. Don is a wonderful husband and father. Could not find a better partner in life or in business… I (Shana) have been in customer service most of my life! I have been a Flight Attendant, Clothing store Manager, Insurance Agent (home and auto) and my most recent position was Owner Manager at a local Cabin Rental company (until the awful COVID-19 made its appearance :(. I thoroughly enjoy working with the owners. I enjoy making the properties look like a magazine so that when the guests come in, they are WOWED (is that a word??) from first glance. I LOVE clean!! I like to go thru these places with a flashlight to look for hidden dirt! I am not even kidding! I have a few pet peeves… toothpaste splatter is one of many! I love a clean smell. I hate bugs! so on and so on… This is the first time I have EVER written in a blog. (didn’t even know what it was to be honest). My husband will keep it updated for the most part, but I wanted to start it out bragging on him a little and telling you about us.

It has been a very long time since I took the time to write. Boy I have learned so much in the last few months. I have always been somewhat of a dreamer and liked to keep my head in the sand and pretend everything was just fine… I no longer believe that is the best way to be. I do not believe God call us to be a pessimist, but He also does not call us to be ignorant or keep our head in the sand. I think He has wanted me to grow up a little in the last couple of years and face reality of life. It gets hard. People hurt you. People disappoint you. But God never does. He is always there for you, He never changes. He is the one stable thing even if everything else is falling apart. I have to learn to accept the fact that I cannot change how people are. I cannot change this world, but I can be the best me. I can strive to be who God wants me to be. I will fail… I will mess up, but I am so very thankful God sees my heart and knows my intentions. Each day I grow to love Him more and appreciate Him.
